Grand Canyon Country

October 7-13, 2010

Grand CanyonDo you know where more Western movies were filmed than any other location?  Travel with us to Grand Canyon Country and we will show you.   Flying into Las Vegas, we will meet up with our very knowledgeable Utah-based guide, Ted Winder, and begin a journey to see the amazing sites and beautiful vistas of the American Southwest.  Spend a day at the south rim of the Grand Canyon National Park, the world’s largest canyon system where you will be amazed at the landscape the Colorado River has created over many centuries.

Another spectacular stop will be Monument Valley, home to some of the most scenic country in the southwest and home to the Navajo Indian Nation.  Stay at Lake Powell, located in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and take a smooth-water raft trip on the mighty Colorado River from Glen Canyon Dam to Lee’s Ferry, with a stop to view ancient petroglyphs.  Other stops will include Antelope Canyon, a petrified sand dune, Marble Canyon, Jacob’s Lake, and the north rim of the Grand Canyon, higher than the south rim, so the view points give a real sense of the vastness of the canyon.

Two nights will be based in St. George Utah, to visit Kolob Canyon, inside the dramatic red cliffs of Zion National Park and Cedar City, home to the renowned Shakespeare Festival. Spend a week seeing some of the most amazing views of the Southwest up close on this tour.
